Newcastle, Northumbria and Durham Uni's play in the national BUSA competition with matches played on Wednesday afternoons (sometimes from about 3pm onwards) and always struggle to provide (paid !) officials.  So ... if anyone is interested in helping out, please contact George Arnott on gwarn47@aol.co.uk
 

 

and welcome to the Northern Counties Volleyball Association. Last year   we changed our name from Tyneside Volleyball to encompass the diversity of the region's Teams; RAF Boulmer (North) in Northumberland, Tynedale (West) in Hexham and Durham University (South) (see map). The League was originally formed in the 1970s and now   consists of Eleven Clubs and 25 Mens and Ladies Teams. Together, with Teesside Volleyball, we collectively form the North East Volleyball Association (NEVA). Volleyball is, by its nature,   a true team sport and this makes the League very friendly and sociable ...... so spike up   your life and play volleyball !!

After two years of Teesside Volleyball leadership, the North East Volleyball Association (NEVA) is now Chaired by Phil Dodd of Northern Counties Volleyball !! This leadership change means more involvement by Northern Counties personnel for overall management, sports development and future projects of all matters concerning NEVA Clubs, Teams and players. It is hoped that ALL Tyneside Clubs get involved to support and assist Phil; with Steve Betts now the new NEVA Coach / Development Officer, Kev Dalkin as Fixture Secretary and Webmaster, Sue Sowden as League Secretary and Wayne Groves as Treasurer. Anyone wishing to assist the NEVA committee ... please contact any of the above.
